GEORGES ROUALT. French Fauvist and Expressionist painter.
Autograph Letter Signed, one full page, quarto, August 15, 1938.
I am in receipt of your telegram – here is the address of my daughter, Isabelle Rouault, who is my secretary, but is not with me at this time: Chalet Pax, Route de Pau, les Hautes Pyrenées, where she will be until the 21st of this month; afterwards she may be reached care of Miss LaGarde, St. Jean des Ollieres, Puy de Dome, until approximately the 30th of September. However, she will not be able to furnish more complete details until after September 30, since she is traveling now and does not have a dossier with her – but she does have a good memory. If I have correctly understood, judging from what was told to me, this is for a catalog of lithographs and etchings done by me, in color and in black, which you have to prepare for November. Keep in mind that my daughter will be in Paris around the end of September, if not sooner. It may be that you will need supplementary information. This my daughter can supply. She will tell you how to get works by the masters and minor masters, if you so desire, and she can give you other details.
In a postscript, Georges Roualt adds, Edition Trapier: There is also ‘Souvenirs Intimes’ [Intimate Memories] lithographed deluxe portraits, among which is my lithographed portrait.
Framed in antique gilt. Matted in tan and gray. Framed dimensions are 20 inches by 18 inches high.
