Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was enormously popular in his life time with his Sherlock Holmes stories, wrote many interesting letters but he was avidly collected by one American University library in particular and few interesting letters ever turn up. After the success of Sherlock Holmes, he pursued an interest in spiritualism and most letters concern this subject. Anything mentioning Sherlock Holmes is extremely rare.
