Irving Berlin never wrote out musical quotations, but he frequently did sign sheet music of his shows and did give autographs to fans. Letters with interesting contents written to his close friends about his musical compositions are highly valued; the collector interest in general has not seemed appropriate for the composer of so many successful long enduring shows and songs, especially God Bless America.
