Exceptionally fine and rare program for the Philadelphia Inquirer’s party to celebrate the “World’s Heavyweight Championship Match” signed by each boxer on the back cover, four pages, octavo, Yankee Stadium, New York, June 22, 1938. The party was hosted by M. L. Annenberg, the newspaper’s chairman and publisher, and the program lists the names of his 56 guests. The program is bound in an artist’s binding of fine-grained brown morocco which has two painted and sculpted portraits of the pugilists applied diagonally on either side of a quilted and painted boxing glove. Attractively presented in a brown morocco fall-back box.
